CASE STUDIES
So far this year we have studied two case studies, 'House of Cards' and 'Orange is The New Black'....we will maybe look at more case studies like 'True Detective'. we should look at as many case studies as possible in order to learn more about american TV dramas.
I really liked 'House of Cards' and believe that the idea of having asides by the main character really works to give the audience more of an insight into the narrative. The idea of this series is complex and gripping with hints and foreshadowing of the plot.
'Orange is The New Black' is very different from 'House of Cards' telling the life of a inmate at a women's correctional facility. This story brings in lots of characters inside the facility that the audience don't know much about which leaves them with an enigma, making the show more interesting and appealing for the target audience.
